..... But i believe I need a specific something to aim for to continue losing weight! Without i'm just like 'what's the point? I don't want to be so pesamistic but this is how my brain works at times haha
I did have a something to aim for. In May, myself and my sister-in-law were going to go on a beach holiday we went in May last year and in the photos I look like a beached whale, no joke! But yesterday she found out she was pregnant and by May she'll be too far along to fly, and probably wont want to either lol
I'm over the moon ecstatic for her, I really am. She's wanted a baby for so long and so she deserves this. AND i'm going to be an aunty for the first time but there's a small part of me (that I hate) thats dissapointed the holiday wont happen.
So, in the interest of NOT giving up and being happy for my sister-in-law, I need a new something to aim for. I literally don't do anything else other than work haha but that suits me. I know it's a long shot but does anyone have any ideas or advice?
Many thanks

OOh I just wrote a blog about that, well about goals beyond weight loss, you can read about it here http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/miadhail/view/i-don-t-know-about-your-scale-but-mine-just-shows-numbers-449142
Hope it helps you somewhat0 -
Yeah thats a good idea thanks i mean, i do it anyway in my undies (not a nice sight lol) but its that added thing about how others see me, ya know? I think thats the push i need, knowing others might be judging me0

^this! YOu don't need to be going on a vacation to feel good about yourself! Look at yourself in the mirror and be honest with yourself. If you aren't happy, then there you go0 -

I agree!! Or...a really nice outfit that you need to lose to get into. And, normally, something WILL come up to wear that fancy outfit.
Good luck!0 -
I use little goals for myself. Currently my goal weight is listed at 139lbs, which is when I (finally) read a healthy BMI. It's not my ultimate goal weight, but it's not far off either (9lbs). When I reach that goal, I intend to celebrate by buying myself a little gift. And then I'll have another little mini-goal after that. I find that if I try to work towards a HUGE goal, I get overwhelmed, so little goals suit my needs. I'll reach my ultimate goal weight eventually.0

Wont there be plenty of photos of u and baby taken in may?
I'm thinking christening/ naming/ baby's first....
And you want to look kick *kitten* in all of those , plus when s/he is older and you do auty duties and look after it you'll want to have enough energy to run around.0 -
I've got a shopping trip planned for when I hit a certain weight (in a larger town with more choices, about an hour away; I'll probably need some new pants at that point anyway ).
Maybe plan something else with your sister that's fun but closer to home- a shopping trip/girls day, seeing a play at a theater, spa day, weekend road trip...0 -

You may have just hit the nail on the head there!0 -
Can't you still go on holiday with a friend or even organise a weekend break? Failing that the bikini Ideas not bad, I have a dress in my wardrobe that I bought last year I couldn't even get the zip closed I can now get the zip done but not much room to breath so I know I have to loose that last bit of weight to fit into it and I have set a date for a night out!
There are lots of ways to keep your focus but I know what you mean I am pretty all or nothing myself I am either headfirst in it or spend months dragging my feet.
So why not try...
1) A Weekend Break if not a holiday.
2) Something you want to wear but you will have to work at it!
3) Bikini photo's
4) A reward something you think is so extravagent that you wouldn't do every day...(pamper and treatment day at spa or similar)
5) Meal at favorite resturant with friends and family and that amazing dress you picture yourself in!
hope these help a little bit but goals are very much personally inspired so have a deeper think about it0 -
How about running a 5k with a friend or even by yourself. Or trying to wear currently a small piece of clothing from your wardrobe or buy something that is too small right now to work towards. I also find blogging about my goals helps me too. I like the ideas above to look at yourself in a bikini in the mirror. I found that taking pics of myself really helped me see what i looked like and what areas i need to work on. And then you can compare it later and see your progress. Good luck finding something that is motivating for you.0

Go to the clearance rack and buy an inexpensive dress in your favorite size. Take a picture of you wearing it every month until it fits.
Decide something you will do for yourself that is special. I'm buying myself the pair of cowboy boots I've been wanting for 10 years when I get to my current goal.
Getting a facial or a massage or something else you wouldn't choose now might be a nice bonus.
Go on a trip with another friend or go on a singles event.
Decide something fun that will break up your work schedule, a class you might take.
For me, my targets are multiplied. I'm not just trying to lose weight. I'm trying to lose the toxicity of the drugs I had to take, those blood tests are encouraging to me every month. Also, I have some physical goals like being able to do a pull-up, so far I've gone from being able to lift 30 lbs of my weight to being able to lift 65. For a lady who couldn't walk as far as the mailbox on my own 9 months ago, that's a pretty big change in 9 weeks. What the scale tells me is encouraging but not as important to me as these other things.
If these ideas work for you that's great, but I truly hope that while you are changing your body you are able to get in touch with what motivates your heart, too. You will lose weight... but your heart you will keep.0 -
For me, my first goal is to lose 30 pounds before my 30th Birthday. I want to look AMAZING in a black dress that I have!! I have more weight to lose then 30 pounds, but it is a start! Hope you find something to keep you motivated soon!!0

When I look good in a bikini I am having a pool party! I am not waiting for a day to show it off, I will make a day to show it off!
I create goals. Like attending a 9km charity run, in feb next year I am doing tough mudder. Keeps me motivated.0
