only 1 or 2 glasses of alcohol for the whole evening? it's a wedding!
have fun, eat until you are satisfied. have some booze, and dance that **** off! don't worry about logging, one night won't sabotage you. have fun!!
  • Eat and enjoy. One special occasion isn't going to break you. Just eat smaller quantities

Kick the groom, insult the bride's mother and make sexy eyes to the bride. You'll get kicked out before the meal. Write a movie deal and not worry about you weight ever again.

    Or just eat.

Don't sweat it. It's a special occasion. Get back on track the day after.

This is what I would of said, in more words, probably.

I'm trying to figure out what an 8 course meal would entail as I've never even heard of one bigger than 4 course (soup, salad, entree, and dessert).

I have found no one really notices what I am eating or doing at a function like this. If you are lucky, life will happen for another 50 or more years. Please enjoy the day and eat until you are happy (not full!)

The bride and groom, or their families, put out a lot of money for YOUR enjoyment! Enjoy!!

You can always tack on a 1/2 hr of extra exercise each day for a week if it makes you feel better.

I hope you have a lovely time! I will be checking for the drunk posting:laugh:
  • I usually try to bank my calories when I know I'm going out. I eat small snacks during the day and then one big meal at the event. Seems to work for me. It's easier to limit myself at home so I can eat what I want when I go out:)) Good luck!

Make healthy choices, given what your options are.

Drink water, tea, coffee, or other very low calorie beverages.
    Skip the bread.
    Small helpings of carbs
Big helpings of meat and veggies
    Small desserts.
Don't put dressing on your salad and skip the butter

Enjoy yourself. It' s just one day.

Either say "screw it!" and enjoy the wedding, no worries!

    OR

If you feel the need to log, take pics of all your plates prior to eating off them. Any one asks say you are photo journaling. I tried it at our last party at work, and that really worked for me. Then even in a drunken stupor, you will remember what you ate

ETA sorry about the double post, I am uploading to YouTube which has apparently freaked my laptop out. Or perhaps this is MY drunken post...

It's one day. Celebrate, enjoy the day, and don't worry about it.

I would try and fit a good workout in during the day, limit my calorie intake during the day, and then let myself eat (in moderation) what I want at the wedding. When I got home, I would track everything that I ate to the best of my abilities (with obviously a lot of guesswork involved).

I wouldn't worry about logging it. Here are some suggestions to make the damage not so crazy:
-Eat lightly up until the wedding and get yourself to the gym in the morning
-Make small changes, like salad without the dressing, cake without the frosting, ect.
-Try everything, but don't feel committed to eat all of it. If you don't love it, don't finish it.
-Have fun on the dance floor
-Mingle and talk with people. Don't eat out of boredom.

I would recommend trying to one-up your food calories with your alcohol calories. Bonus points if you're double-fisting beers.
Best advice in the whole thread.

Champagne is pretty low calories for a glass....Less than a hundred calories....have a few....dance crazy....have a few more and dance a little more crazy....one should cancel the other out! :)

enjoy and have fun. You shouldn't live in a hole because you are trying to eat healthy most of the time. :drinker:

    - Eat slowly, making sure you savour every bite and have a sip of water after every couple of mouthfuls. When everyone else on your table has stopped eating, you stop too. Also make sure you eat the healthy stuff on your plate first. This way your likely to eat less, especially of the naughty things (make sure you at least have a taste of them though!).

    - If you're still keen to log, pretend to be a hipster and take photos of your plate of food to help remember what you've eaten. Or you could nick a menu. Then you can log as best you can...but still make a note that you were at a wedding!

    - Don't let your diet stop you from having a good time - remember, you can just work it off the next day (or on the dance floor!)

    Found reading this really helpful

    http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/SueGeer/view/how-to-optimise-your-diet-using-a-cheat-day-446448

Enjoy the wedding, eat what you want (as long as you want it ) and just don't go too crazy.
  • Just snack on each plate, definitly don't eat it unless you consider it to be worth the calories. Just go and consider it a cheat day.

Go and enjoy your time with friends and family. Enjoy the meal. It is just one day and you can get back on track tomorrow.
