Resorting back to my old ways

Well a little about myself to start may be a good idea. Ever since I was a freshman in college, I have gained 60 pounds. Man, that's a lot now that I write and read it myself. I was 170 lbs and in the best shape of my life. Now I'm 235 lbs, 4 knee surgeries, and out of shape in the worst way. During college, I ate pretty much salads and tuna salad sandwiches and worked out everyday. Now (18 years later) I eat junk food, at least a liter of soda everyday, and hit the gym maybe 3 days a week. Well I'm going to conduct my own experiment. I'm going to turn back time and resort back to my old ways. Starting tomorrow, I'm going to hit the gym everyday and start a streak of consecutive days at the gym. I'll be eating raisin bran, salads with turkey for lunch, and a balanced but small dinner consisting of lean meat, 2 servings of veges, and no carbs. I'll report back in one week and let you guys know how it goes. I figure by throwing it out there, I'm holding myself accountable. After a week, my hopes are that the ball will start rolling and momentum will be on my side.

Good luck to the rest of you too. :)

I don't see how you're going to get no carbs eating vegetables, unless you're expecting to eat only horseradish, lettuce, mushrooms and watercress.

Good for you for turning your life around!

Instead of raisin bran, can I suggest All bran flakes with raisins added? It's much healthier for you and much less sugar.

Agreed. One cup of Raisin Bran has 17 grams of sugar. That's more than 4 teaspoons!

Oh fuzzballs that's so much pop. I remember the days of drinking that much in one sitting. Throw that crap out and drink water. Or flavored water. Or anything but the oh-so-sweet caffeinated, carbonated, caramel-colored corn syrup. We'll see you in a week.
