How much fruit is ok?

I know fruits and veggies are obviously awesome for you but I keep hearing eat way more veg than fruit..I even heard someone say no more than 2 full pieces of fruit a day!! This sucks because I looooove apples and peaers especially. I work out 6x a week (combo of weights and cardio) and burn off anything from 400-800 cals each time..how much fruit could I safely eat? I have an apple every day but apart from that I usually just have a few blueberries or strawberries with my oatmeal in the morning and thats all the fruit I allow myself (maybe a small satsuma at a push!) could I eat 2 apples instead of 1 a day?? I loveee them they're like candy to me haha I know veggies are better but I'd much rather munch on a peach or an apple than a piece of cauliflower!

I here you on loving fruit... oddly enough, when I started adding back foods on phase iII of the Dukan Diet, we were allowed one a day. We were also suppose to add a serving of whole wheat bread, but I just mentally couldn't get back to eating bread again (I feel better and my skin is smoother without it) so I pinged my Dukan coach on what to replace the bread with... and he suggested another apple! So score! I add an extra fruit up to two a day for the bread/potatos/rice/pasta I don't eat. I feel great.0

Australia guidelines recommend 2 servings of fruit and 5 veggies a day. 1 serve= half a cup0

When it comes to math, a deficit is a deficit. However; most veggies are lower in calories over all. This is great news if you are trying to stay "full" enough not to feel hungry, but having trouble staying within your daily goal. Things like carrots, celery and that sort of thing can save your day.0

Fruit is a better choice than some items but I check my daily scores to see how much overall sugar I am consuming by eating certain fruits. When looking up the glycemic index watermelon is the highest in sugar and strawberries and blueberries are lower. You can even check out veggies and discover that carrots are higher in sugar than green beans etc.0

I have the issue of I love eating tomatoes (giant huge ones, usually one with lunch every day if I can - helps keep my skin cleared up) but I personally still consider it a veggie, but most consider it a fruit, so never know which to track it under as. :P
I personally love veggies much more than fruits. :-)0
