Signed up for a class twice a week! It's a start, right? :P

So excited, I had to share! A few weeks ago I signed up at the Y for a water aerobics class twice a week. I'm very excited, as usually I shy away from exercise as a general rule. :P Not a good attitude to give with trying to lose weight, I know. It's just not fun! But going twice a week as a start, the class is 45 minutes long, I've gone for one week so far, and it is really great for stretching, and I do sweat during it - it's a start! Hoping to get more classes of a different sort in per week, too, but with work and school that just isn't looking feasible right now. I'm feeling really great after class, and usually I sleep afterwards, it wears me out. Until then, hoping to get into a solid routine of class, and then walking a mile or two, 2 days a week as well. Hoping this starts me off right!
Also looking for new friends on the site, as I'm really trying again to make this work, and the motivation would help. Just wanted to post here about it, as I'm really pumped!

Sometimes the biggest victory is found in getting into the gym and doing something new. Congratulations!
I promise you, if you are not used to working out and you are taking a class twice a week that's a big improvement. It's great that you're already looking at what else you might try. When I first started going to a gym a few years ago I challenged myself to take on whatever class scared me the most. I figured out very quickly which ones I hated because of the physical challenge and which ones were about the emotional issue of taking a challenge. I began to love the physical challenge and conquer the emotional ones. You can, too.
