A couple months ago, I decided that I wanted to be in better shape in my 40s than I was in my 30s.
Stephanie and I are eating healthier and exercising at least 5 days a week. (Thank you, Stephanie! and thanks for the help and motivation Cassandra, Mom and MFP friends.
My 40th birthday is tomorrow.
Here is a picture of my progress so far (about two months in)... I'll post another update pic on January 1st.

Someone asked what I've been doing to get in shape....
logging all food and exercise on MFP every day
eating net 1200 each day
got a pedometer and try to walk extra steps every day
see a trainer 2x a month for an exercise routine
3x a week an hour of fast walking
3x week calisthenics / body weight exercises
3x week beginning weight lifting
I'm excited about the progress!

Well done, I made the same decision (I'm 2 weeks behind you) unfortunately I'm not as close to goal as I wanted to be, however I'm not letting that put me off and I'm going to keep pushing forward. I'm already feeling fitter and slimmer, just waiting for the scales to catch up. You're an inspiriation x

I really love the things (logging MFP daily, regular exercise, etc.) you are doing. It is really showing. Very inspirational. Happy 40th birthday. I am trying to be healthier in my late 50s than I was in my 30s or 40s.0
