Healthy Eating on a Budget

I'm a poor student on a budget with not many cookery skills! However, I am determined to make meals interesting and healthy.

Has anyone any meal suggestions for someone in my circumstances?

Thanks,
Maribeth. x

1.) bulk bags of brown rice and beans (especially lentils) are a great meal base

2.) frozen fruits and vegetables are definitely underrated (and usually cheaper, depending on what it is)

3.) having a decent selection of spices will make meals more interesting

4.) shop around. Within 2 miles of where I live, there is a store with really cheap fruits and vegetables, another store with cheap staple items (bread, milk, eggs), and a third that always seems to have chicken breast on sale.

Also if you live close to a farm market, after hours they often put out fresh fruits and veggies that have not sold and it's FREE. It's not bruised or anything. At least they do that in my area.
