What else besides HIIT?

Hi there! I just started within the past few weeks doing High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) in the form of a full body boot camp. We meet three days a week, on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. I don't know what other workouts I should be doing in addition. I don't yet have a heartrate monitor, but the people I workout with burn anywhere from 500-700 calories per 1 hour sessions.

Should I be lifting on other days? Doing cardio? Any guidance would be great!

I'm 26 years old and have about 30lbs to lose and want to tone after that!

Thanks!

With something high intensity three days a week, I'd probably go for something a little easier on the alternate days.

Lifting (especially lifting enough to really do anything) might be a little too intense.

Lifting on your alternate days may help you retain lean body mass as you slim down. I say, do that twice a week and make sure to take some rest days every week to let your body recover.
