Wal-Mart costumers are special breed. I used to go there to get my son's formula .... People are rude, kids are running around jumping on meat cases like they were raised with wild animals, and don't get me started on the outfits... Employees are rude, they don't speak English and when you ask for help, they act like you bother them. Now I only go online because I would really flip the f out on someone there ....

i posted this once before on another thread.....

i was at walmart one day wearing my schluby clothes, the outfit consisted of a pair of cutoff sweats and a tank top....

well i was walking around with my sister when i heard a little boy ask his mother: mom, is that a boy or a girl?
i still don't see how he didn't know...my top was cut low enough to see my ample bosom and i had my hair down...

i was shocked...the mother did nothing...so i saw the look my sister had on her face and we just walked a bit faster as to not see that stupid kid/mother combo again anywhere in the store.

    In one trip:
    1. I got trapped between two cars for over 15 minutes in the parking lot, yet there were spaces available 2 rows over.
    2. I was in the aisle for contact lens solution and a little girl (3 or 4) proceeded to vomit all over herself and the floor. The mom just slowly moved her down the aisle in mild, stupefied alarm.
    3. An incredibly large gentleman was taking up a whole aisle leaning on his cart, showing an ample proportion of his very large hindquarters. Again - trapped behind him.
    4. Walked down one aisle where a grandmother was allowing her teenaged grandson to "ride" the back of the scooter, scraping the floor. The aisle was too narrow to turn around.
    5. Finally got to the checkout and two women were getting into it about who was in which aisle.

Happiness goes to Walmart to die. I shop at Target.
  • whenever i felt bad about my weight, walking into a walk-mart always made me feel better. at 225, i was the thinnest one there!

I was behind a lady with sunglasses and a seeing eye dog once. All of a sudden she stops, picks up some blue shoes and says to the lady she's with "These are pretty blue shoes!"

I can understand why. I work in customer service and I hate people. I get cussed out because of the price of things, I get cussed out when we are sold out of something, I get cussed out when a machine is broken and I get cussed out if a machine runs out of something. I've been called fat, b!tch, stupid, ugly, c u next Tuesday and d*ke.

I only run a small convenience store, I can only imagine the crap wal-mart people deal with. (Especially this time of year)

So yes, I bet every customer ever bothers them.
  • I work retail (part time), and can hate customers too! They feel so entitled, and think nothing of treating you like a piece of s***. They'll look down their noses at you and barely acknowledge you OR will cuss at you and demand to see your manager for things that are beyond my control (there are only 3 people at any given time in our store) so, YEAH! GUESS WHAT YOU A-HOLES! YOU HAVE TO WAIT SOMETIMES! And if they DONT like it, they can get the **** out of the store! Ah...do I ever wish I could just get on the intercom and scream that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can go into walmart with my hair up, PJ's on and still feel like a supermodel AND the mother of the year!

That said, while some are nice(I hear?) mine is not, so I avoid it.
I can't shop in dirty unkempt stores.

Our walmart is really nice and I like alot of the people that work there. I almost always get into a convo with the cashier when we are checking out. The one greeter we have there is a really awesome older gent who always wears these big funky fun ties depending what time of year it is and is great with kids. Maybe I'm just lucky but I like shopping there lol.

(I feel bad for the mom who's kid barfed on herself, not even sure I would know what to do other then find an associate there and ask where their janitor supplies are lol)

They treat their employees like **** so I won't go there unless I absolutely have to.

And, in many places, employees of Walmart are striking. As you think about your job and what it would take to let go of your pay for a day and walk off the job, imagine what these folks are going through to take that risk. And then don't cross a picket line. Ever.

I've seen a couple of documentaries on it. It's quite sad.

One day I was running through Walmart and passed a gal sitting on a stool in the shoe department cradling a newborn baby. I love babies so I stopped and took a step back and said, "show me what you got there".

The gal looked up at me with an expression I still cant describe - it was a mixture of various & bewildered emotions....oh GAWD...she was breastfeeding the little angel!

i started stammering, mumbling and stuttering trying to explain my ignorance.... & she never once uttered a sound; she just kept looking up at me. Oh man, I felt like a repulsively sick & depraved creature.

After what seemed like an eternity I kinda found enough composure to utter, uhhhh - and then garbled an aahhh - and then with all the dignity I could muster.... made tracks!

I currently work at Walmart and they got so much favoritism its horrible. I'm a cashier and they make most of the people that do what they are supposed to do feel like slave and never appreciated until a year later. And sometimes never.

My very first job was as a cashier at Wal-Mart. Hated it. The customers were nasty (looks, smells, attitude) and the management wasn't any better. The first person I rung up on my own was just buying about 20 rolls of film and a bunch of condoms. I have no idea why he chose my line (others were open) because he wouldn't look at me the whole time. Very strange.
When I applied, I put on my availability that I was not available on Fridays (babysitting) and on Saturdays I had to leave by 4 (church). They were fine with that. But for the entire 4-5 months I worked there, they scheduled me EVERY Friday night and EVERY Saturday night. And EVERY time I'd have to find a manager to explain, AGAIN why those hours wouldn't work and they'd change them.
Then there was the glorious time when I quit. I did the "right" thing and gave them 2 weeks notice. My last day was on a Sunday. As it turned out my older sister was in town that weekend and I wanted to spend the day with her. I decided that I would treat them with more consideration than they'd ever given me and before I left on Saturday I left a note on the manager schedule telling them that tomorrow is my last day anyway and I'm not coming in. I left my apron and my name tag on the clipboard when my shift was over and happily walked out. A friend who also worked there said there was a note next to mine that said "Terminated! No excuses!" Morons. I QUIT. I told you that 2 weeks ago.

I can't talk about Wal-Mart as a customer or employee because I have never been there. However, I can tell you why I don't go. Wal Mart stores undercut prices at local businesses who are frequently forced to go under. Right now there are at least two communities in the Twin Cities area that are working hard to keep Wal Mart from opening new stores in their cities. Employees are underpaid with no benefits, treated poorly, and have been denied the right to organize. The recent protests and lawsuits say a lot.

I want to save money like everyone else - I don't have very much of it - but some things are more important than saving money.

I was at the local WalMart with my mom, and in the midst of getting what we came for (cat food and birdseed), I looked down the aisle and saw the cutest pirate wench costume. Only the dress, out of the package. An employee noticed me looking at it and said "There's a hat that goes with it, I know I JUST saw it around" and proceeded to look through the lower shelves, for almost 20 minutes, until he found it! He also found the leggings that made it look like you were wearing boots. He was SO happy when he found all the parts of the costume. It was great. HE was wonderful!

Oh - you wanted a WORST story about WalMart. Sorry about that.. :blushing:

Walmart is the only grocery that does this: even though I separate all my groceries according to type (veggies then other refrigerated goods, freezer goods, dry goods, meat, etc.), the meat and the veggies always end up in the same bag. Drives my little anti-ecoli heart insane.

their meat is more expensive than any other store around me.
their produce always has bugs flying on it.
their clearance prices are a joke..
only reason I go there is because my husbands work gives him GCs

I always put the veggies first, then freezer stuff then meat. This way you can take the vegetables off the spinner as soon as they bag it. /end problem

My fiance worked there for a bit. He faced racism from the african-american employees that were assistant managers and managers. They called him "cracker" and the word "f*ggot" was thrown at him a lot. They made him do all the grunt work, while they sat around and verbally abused him, or they just slacked off. He worked in the electronics department and because he actually was able to move more product than the other employees could, they felt threatened by him. They started cutting his hours, purposely giving him the wrong schedules and then one day he went in and they told him that he wasn't scheduled, when he was. He was unable to punch in and was told to go home. They turned that against him, claimed he "abandoned his post" and fired him.

Wal-mart is bloody evil. We refuse to shop there.
