Love handles? More like hate handles.

Okay so I have only lost about 15 (as of a week ago. not weighing in again until Wednesday morning...possibly lost more) and have a while to go. BUT I have already noticed a nice change in my body. Like in my face, around my waist, a little on my arms, and some on my legs. The more I observe my body though, the more I can't help but feel a little discouraged despite all the improvements I'm seeing.

Everywhere else on my body seems to be a wee bit smaller, but I swear, I think my love handles have seriously gotten bigger!!! From a recent, significant, quick weight gain, I got a lot of new stretch marks around my sides where my love handles are. And I was expecting these to at least just stay the same, if not reduce. But it looks like those stretch marks have gotten redder, as if they are growing. Why is everything else getting smaller but my love handles are seemingly getting even more "lovely"?

I know you can't spot reduce. I know that no matter how many side crunches or whatever else I do, those muscles won't show until the fat is gone. So why is the fat not budging? I had a friend who lost over 70 pounds while in high school. She's in her early 20's now and looks amazing. Best body ever. But even she has not gotten rid of her stubborn love handles. Why are they SO HARD TO GET RID OF?

Anyone else have problems with love handles?

i have a issue with my love handles too and i have been told it's b/c you are losing weight and getting smaller in other areas it just seems as if they are getting larger.. till you lose them a bit then it even's out. Mine have gone down quite a bit but it's the one thing on me that is till hate.... plus the lower belly that makes me look pregnant!

Everyone loses fat differently. You might just hold on to that fat longer than others, and while they probably aren't bigger if the rest of you is smaller they may appear that way. Also, the stretch marks will probably look bigger as the handles shrink because they less ground to cover. Just keep doing what you're doing, eventually they will go, too!

And yes, I feel like my love handles are the last thing to go and since my butt and tummy have slimmed down they look bigger proportionally, and I hate it, too!
