Best organization to get involved with as a volunteer?

Im wanting to make a difference in others lives with some of my spare time.

The last time I tried to volunteer at a local childrens hospital (last summer) they had met their quota for volunteers (didnt think they'd turn help away but they did :( )

    Something that you have a passion about and can contribute meaningfully to the cause. Not all volunteer efforts are good fits for potential volunteers.
