i bought some lean ground chicken..of course out it in the freezer, took out tonight for supper...i've just made a huge batch of meatballs with the plan to freeze the rest that we don't eat for supper..then i realized, this meat has already been frozen..

i can't re-freeze them after being cooked if they have been frozen already, can I?

I'm no expert, but I think after you've cooked it it's ok. Because cooking would kill off most germs; just don't keep it sitting at room temperature for very long. And make sure you re-heat it well.
  • Correct you can thaw, cook and refreeze meat. it's a great way to always have healthy protein ready to eat!

btw: you can not freeze, thaw and refreeze...
