pressed cottage cheese
I got 2 large packs of pressed cottage cheese since the nutritional info looked good; 11g of protein for 55 cals & I enjoy eating ‘normal’ cottage cheese. Well this tastes totally different and has a weird texture too. I couldn’t finish it even with almond butter on top.
Any ideas on what I can do to make it taste somewhat better ?

Never had Pressed cottage cheese. But maybe you could break it up and add some honey. I add honey to regular cottage cheese and it is delicious0

My fave since I was a kid…..I eat it mixed with FF sour cream (or maybe you could try FF greek yogurt) and add cut-up tomatoes, green onions, cucumbers, radishes and pepper to taste. It’s my version of a breakfast salad and I have it along with my eggs and toast.
Just thinking on the fly…. This can be sliced and put in your wraps or sandwiches. Cut up and used in salads – like cubed feta cheese.0 -
I have no suggestion but wanted to see what you were talking about. Good luck Nef!0

I have never had pressed cottage cheese, but I love cottage cheese with minced garlic, salt, paprika and some pepper. If you like cumin you can put cumin into it, or other spices according to your preference. You can use some sour cream or natural yoghurt to make it softer.:) Maybe that will work with pressed cottage cheese as well.0

Not a bad idea, mixing with FF greek yogurt might give it the same consistence as 'normal' cottage cheese. Then honey on top. Will give this a try. Might still salvage it )0 -
I actually like it better than the regular cottage cheese...
One thing you could do it to crumble it into small crumbles and add it to any pancake mix (i love Trader Joe's Multigrain Pancake mix). Stir it well. Add other ingredients like in the pancake recipe. The resulting pancakes are delicious, and they have a bigger percentage of protein than regular pancakes.
Also, you can crumble the pressed cottage cheese and add it to salads - add more spices, and the salad will be lower calorie than if you used blue cheese in it.0 -
Hmm never heard of it, but i might see if i can find some in the uk.
You may want to look for quark in the future, 10.1 g protin for 55 cals.
Also a quick search found some yumme pressed cc recipies,

Thank you, pancake idea sounds great and will make it more substantial.
@ Zylahe, thanks for the site, I had checked that out and not a great fan what they have there.0 -
I've never tried it, but based on the high protein content, I'd be tempted to use it as a filler in smoothies.0
