Fridays and Saturdays, I usually make my cutoff 9 p.m. But this snow has messed me up and I could have sworn yesterday was Thursday. Either way, we didn't eat again until 7 p.m. (got an impromptu invite to a friend's house for dinner). My friend loves homemade Mac and Cheese, but fortunately I had just gone to Trader Joe's and still had groceries in my car so filled up on strawberries before going in, had two helpings of salad, and cooked up some fish I bought. Yummy. Of course, stressful situation came up and I came home and wanted to start stuffing my face, so I took one of my pre-packaged dried mango that I had separated that morning and nibbled on that until the feeling passed. Aaahhh. I feel success! So thank you lovely ladies for all your encouragement and continuing this thread with me.
Dewdrop - I hope your party last night went well. And that you were able to sleep in this morning.
sdwelk11 - Yeah YOU is right. Great job. You are on a marvelous streak. Weekends are hard, but make a reasonable goal. You can do this!!!
justycrusty and teetee1281- How are you guys doing?
:drinker: Here is to a successful no lat night "junk" eating weekend! :drinker:0 -

Uhm... I was strong and passed on some cakes (though that was haaard), but then (past 10) a small cup of fruit salad was set in front of me and I was hungry already, so I thought "at least this is healthy". I felt a bit defeated, but I was still strong as to NOT dash to the fridge when we got home, thinking, as I would usually do, "I blew it anyhow". So, maybe it wasn't that bad, but it just felt a bit like hmm... :ohwell: .0 -
No way girl. Look at the title. No late night JUNK snacking. When faced with choices, you made a healthy one, and you did great!!!! Definite success! Keep the tally going. I'm extremely depressed that you didn't just throw the towel in at the end of the night. And I hope you enjoyed yourself a little in there. I like your attitude of "shifting the fun from munching to making nice conversation".0 -
Hey guys! Sorry, I have not checked in for the past few evenings. It's my weekend here, and been spending a lot of time trying to catch up on some homework assignments. :grumble:
Thursday and Friday were both successful nights, the only complication is that I ate food from this country so, I have no idea how to log it in. But luckily, I didn't eat too much junk food throughout the day so I think I was safe with my food choices. Last night, was mixed grill with lamb, chicken, and beef that is grilled. Then Thursday, I had a taco salad from Frudruckers, (we have all types of American restaurants here but the menu is different especially if pork is on the menu).
I read over the post I missed in the last few days, hope I don't miss anyone in the following comments:
justycrusty: Besides giving up sweets for religious purposes, its a great start to eliminate that from your diet too. If you can go 40 days, then you can go 50, and so forth. You can do it. :drinker:
Strawberry chocolate tea? Sounds really delicious, actually so good, I fear that it wouldn't be healthy. I'm going to have to look for that. Does it taste chocolaty?
Lulabelle: Thank you for checking on me, I'm still in and going strong. I see that you are too, so that's GREAT! (I felt like Tony the Tiger typing that
Dewdrop: I'm with Lulabelle, the fact that you passed up the cake and later ate fruit salad! That is not blowing the evening, that is the sign that you can officially make good decisions when it comes to the late night snacking. You get an "A" from me and no failure in my eyes! :flowerforyou:0 -
you, guys - even if the fruit salad had some juice from the canned pineapple?
OK, I give up - erm... I mean, I'll stick to it! I'll give up seeing it as a blow up and stick to the challenge, that's what I mean - .
I am proud of you, too, ladies! :flowerforyou: Looking forward to all the updates and really glad that everyone's so inspiring for the others.0 -

Great job as always. I'm still greatly impressed by the fact that you didn't cave in later on what YOU felt was a failure. That is usually what does me in. I'm going to remember that for my upcoming uncertainties.

Dewdrop: I'm sure there was more fruit that sweet sugary syrup. You still have my approval that you had a great evening. I was just talking to my friend today about how much MFP and the messages boards have encouraged me to stick to it. I feel that when ever I post something I am making a commitment to the reader and myself. And I refuse to let people down.
Lulabelle: I know exactly what you edited because I was confused at first with the post. But on another note, I love your animations! I was sitting here laughing. Thanks for the smile and laugh. :flowerforyou: I wonder how many calories a laugh and smile burns?
Tonight was successful. I was even able to squeeze in a fruit cup and finished by 729pm.0 -

I think I'm getting the hang of this. Last night my cutoff was 9 p.m. and I was done by 8:30. Of course, I think I was in bed by 9 as I was exhausted. But I still count it as a success0 -
lullabelle and teetee, well done!
We went out again last night (quite a weekend ) and I did drink past my cut-off, but only the juice I had ordered soon after we got there. So I'm counting it as success, too .
I have to make a disclaimer for tonight: I will eat when I get home, even if it is going to be after 9. But if will have to be before 10 .
Hope everyone has a nice weekend and hope noone's getting discouraged by the temptations weekends have in store for us. Remember, tomorrow we'll start a new challenge .0 -
I DID IT!!!! Seven days straight. It has been awhile.
Thanks to all you wonderful ladies out there who posted and were extremely supportive, especially my own little cheerleaders, teetee and dewdrop. I couldn't have done it without you.
Here is to another successful week.0 -
Great job dewdrop, as always. You reasonableness is this challenge is an inspiration. Keep it going.0

My last post for the week! Last night was good, I can not really account for everything that I ate, if it was good for the calories, but I did burn enough on the bike ride to be able to splurge just a little.
To a great week of success for all and the begining of a new week :drinker:
Lulabelle: I just love the Smiley you add!0 -
Teetee, love the new pic. You look awesome! Keep it up and keep posting them pics.0 -
Hey guys,
Thanks for checking up on me - I am back now - I tend not to use the computer over the weekends as have to so much during the week.
Well what can I say - if I can''t be honest here then I won't get anywhere - not a good weekend for me!! Saturday I had no food after about 3 pm (bacon sambo for lunch nice and filling) but then the wine brings you right up on calories. MFP is great for making me aware of quite how many you can clock up on drink!!
Sunday wasn't as bad as I had thought apart from dessert - I was making a valentines dinner for me and my boyfriend - smoked salmon parcel for start, chicken in parma ham for mains and chips, dessert was bad - metling chocolate pudding with ben and jerrys cookie dough. I think valentines day was always going to be bad for me, but as you said Dewdrop - no looking back and regretting - PMA I like it!
After I write this post I shall go straight to "No more sweets" and join. It sounds like you are doing so great yourself, so definitely don't worry bout a fruit salad after hours, and think of the junk it could have been instead!
Lulabelle, you really are doing fab too, 7 days straight wow!! inspirational.
Teetee, thanks for your kind words too, bike rides are great fun and so good for burning off the cals!
I think for me, its a bit of all or nothing - which I know is a bad way to be. I think though, once lent starts cut it out completely and then I can keep on going after lent.
Thanks again everyone, and weldone!0 -
Great job dewdrop, as always. You reasonableness is this challenge is an inspiration. Keep it going.
Last night was another challenge - I only got home 10 minutes before 10. BUT I did manage to have the last bite at 10:02 or so  So I was in graphic  .
justycrusty, you had someone to celebrate Valentine's with and that is what matters . Plus, I believe you did REALLY well. Can you picture Valentines day with you two munching on celery sticks all day long? . What you could do next year, is to go for a long walk after dessert - gives you the opportunity to chat and burns the calories.
Well, team, lemme say: GOOD WORK!0 -

the strawberry chocolate decaf tea is from costvplus world market. It is yummy and I use 1 packet of splenda in it. I love it because I get my chocolate fix without the guilt!!!0 -
