back pain and getting back into working out!

Does anyone have back pain or an Sacro-iliac joint problem. I have been battling this since august this year. I have been doing great since October, but recently kicked in 60 minutes of cardio which made my back scream at me. Back to seeing the chiropractor and put my cardio down to 30 minutes which stinks cause I love the burn! This back problem is what made me gain the 15 lbs I did not need....grrrrrrr!
I need some good back stretching exercises?

I have big time problems with the whole sciatic region. Ask your doc or physical therapist- cause any good stretch we might share with you may seriously injure whatever your condition is at the moment. If I tell you to try one stretch, cause it works on me, and I dont know your whole situation, and you get stuck in a permanent pretzel, well - that would ruin both our days

Oh no, I completely understand! I have horrible sciatica as well. I'd agree that you should see a chiropractor or a physiotherapist but if you have access to a pool or hot tub it may help to get in one for a bit. Do you have a heat pack?

I used to have this problem. I switched to a really firm mattress and that was the biggest help. But, I also think you may need to focus on core exercises to strengthen your abs and support your back. Physical therapy is expensive, but I went for one session so that I could get a list of approved exercises and they also improved my discomfort. Now I rarely hurt.
