How many calories went in your mouth? That's what you ate.

    If you eat 1200 (+)
    Then you burn 400 (-)
(=)That gives you 800 to feed your body with.

    Not enough really.

    Put very simply!
  • If you're burning about 400 calories a day, that means your only eating 800 calories a day. Regardless of how many calories you're burning per day, you need to make sure to still eat 1200 calories a day. For example, if you burn 300 calories in one day, make sure to eat an extra 300 calories that day to make up for the calories burned. Good luck! :)

You are EATING 1200 a day.
You are BURNING 400 a day.
You are NETTING 800 a day.

MFP is set so that you achieve your weight loss goals based on you NETTING what number they assign you. MFP wants you to NET 1200 a day. So, you are eating less than what MFP has assigned for you.

^This. If you eat 1200, you ate 1200. It's not like exercise is a time machine that will take you back and steal 400 calories out of your mouth so that you only ate 800.

Big debate topic to eat back the exercise calories or not to eat them back that is the question... Personally, I do NOT... Do they have the contestants on the Biggest Loser eat back their calories? NO that's how they lose huge amounts of weight... Do I eat them back? NO... Should you, may you, will you that is the question you have to ask yourself. There's a reason I've dropped 100 pounds in under 5 months. My blood pressure has improved dramatically... My energy level is consistent and through the roof... People may argue with me but the results of my hard work are not refutable...

I know this isn't what you asked.....but for your height and weight if you regularly burn 400 then 1200 isn't really enough (even net). It has probably worked so far as it often does at forst when you have more than 30 pounds to lose, but eventually it stops and people get frustrated and give up. I don't want that to happen to you. I would reccommend not eating below your BMR. Which for you right now is 1650ish. It sounds like a lot but really it's what your body needs. As you lose weight it will get lower. So if your BMR is 1650 and you are completely sedentary (which I'm guessing you're not) your TDEE would be 1980! For only moderately active you'd be at 2270. You could lose 1 to 1.5 pounds a week just dieting at 1600 calories a day! Don;t be afraid to give your body what it needs if you eat a few more calories a day and maybe up your proteing macros you might even find that you are able to tone up while you lose so that when you get to your goal you don't have that pesky arm flab or love handles.

Just a thought....something you might want to check into. =)
