How many calories do I burn at work?

I'm a cashier at Lowe's, that may not sound very strenuous, but it involves a lot of heavy lifting, and I do a lot of walking. And by walking, I mean power walking. I don't walk slow. I may weigh 192 now, but much of it is muscle, and I power walk everywhere. Just wondering if I should be adding it as exercise to mfp... just curious. Add me if you like!!

I wouldn't add it as a form of exercise, because you do it daily, and your body is somewhat accustomed to it (resulting in less calories burned than you think) I would however make sure that you put your activity level to "moderately active" or something like that to compensate.

I only count what I call "exercise on purpose."
    That is all.
    Carry on.

Get a HRM or a Fitbit and track yourself, never add daily activities as exercise, exercise is a deliberate activity.

You daily activity should be calculated in when you set your lifestyle activity at the beginning (sedentary, etc). Adding those cals in will more than likely confuse your plan and thwart your efforts.

Don't do it. Exercise is intentional.

HRM isn't meant to be worn all day and would be inaccurate. FitBit might be useful but in general whatever you do repetitively for work isn't counted as exercise.

Why can't there be exercise on accident?? That would be awesome!

Of course it may involve a zombie chasing after you... nevermind...

when you setup your account you select your activity level.. light, moderate, heavy. that includes your job and what you do on a daily basis
