So i won a gift card to an anytime fitness gym. I am unsure if this gym is a good option. I enjoy running outside but as it gets colder i am going to want to move in doors. Doing a quick search it appears these gyms may have a bad rap. They dont post their prices anywhere. Im assuming its a plan to get u in the door and sign up for a bunch of stuff. Does anyone have any experience with this gym?

I don't have any personal experience with Anytime Fitness, but a friend was a member there for a long time. He enjoyed it. I'm afraid I don't know more detail than that.

My husband and I go to this gym and love it. The one we belong to has a great staff, lots of cardio machines and a great weight room with plenty of free weights. As for cost I think it is about 40 bucks a month. We pay less than that because we get a good discount through our insurance. Might be worth checking into. We have been very happy with this gym.

Thanks for the tip on the insurance. i will have to look into that. Ive heard that sometimes companies will even give you monthly "bonuses" for joining a gym. I will check into that. just doing a quick search last night brought up that anytime fitness was one of the more expensive gyms and you get locked into a year membership. i would rather not do the year membership and then have alot of hidden fees like if you miss a payment or want to cancel your membership.

I've been going to AF for a couple years and I LOVE it! My gym has the best staff and trainers. They are always willing to give advice, provide me a spot when lifting really heavy, and they have a pretty decent set up with dumbbells, hammer strength equipment, squat racks, etc. I also pay $40 a month.

I go to and enjoy Anytime Fitness. I think it's all about the franchise location and owners, so go check your local one out. Mine is clean, has great classes, but it is a little small. But overall, I'm very happy... $40 per month is in the ballpark - if you commit to 18 months you can shave a few bucks off per month...
  • I actually just joined Monday. It was it is $43 a month. They do have some type of corporate discounts. But I'm a stay at home mom, so I don't get any of that. You do have to pay for the key fob thingy (to get in the door), but if you write down some names and numbers for them to call to try to get more clients, it reduces the price by $15. So instead of paying the $50, you pay $35. Also, there is some type of sdiscount you get off of your monthly payment for recruiting yourself. Sorry, that's all the info. I have.

I visited two different ones on Thanksgiving.

First one was decent, but small and cardio machinery was somewhat limited. No real bench press or squat stations either.

Second one was much larger and had almost everything I would think to need in a gym.

I think they vary based on location - I'd check your closest one out before committing to any, if you decide to do so.
