Whoa! Sodium!

I never realized how much sodium fast food has in it until tonight. Holy cow. All I had was a kids meal from Dairy Queen. I'm not doing that very often anymore!

Sodium in everything is off the hook. With as much as the government gets involved in our lives, you would think there would be restrictions in how much of it companies can put in food

I hear 'ya, sister. It's everywhere! Especially fast and restaurant food. And processed stuff like soups, frozen meals, etc.

I just added sodium to my list of things to track on the Food part of my profile. I'm sure glad I did. I will think twice about eating fast food again.

The only way to really reduce it is to cook from fresh and make all your own sauces condiments etc.

Yep! I go as far as to cook my own beans and chickpeas instead of using canned.

Yeh, you can soak your own beans, make your own bread with half the salt...unfortunately, if you need bread you have to use salt to inhibit the yeast or it just blows up into huge holes...
