My daughter is helping me exercise and its of course good to keep her active as well. We really like doing the Just Dance for the Wii and X Box adventures. I definately work up a sweat, but can that count as exercise? I don't want to cheat the system or anything just looking for a fun way to encorporate exercise with the kids. If so-how do I know how many calories I am burning?

I do Just Dance and the Abba we can dance on the Wii and log it as "dancing general". I work up a sweat so it counts to me

Unless you have a HRM you won't know. It's exercise but not the kind that requires eating the calories back and sweat isn't an indicator of level of exertion. Some people sweat sitting in a chair and others can run 5K and barely be a bit moist.

You are burning more calories than just sitting and watching TV, but hard to say how many without an HRM.

You can log it under exercise. It will give you an idea of how many calories you are actually burning. Several of the Wii exercises are listed.

I sometimes play Just Dance with my kids. I wear my HRM and burn about 275 to 300 calories in a half hour. I let the kids pick the songs and I jog in place in between.

Thanks, at least I know I am being productive when I play now :)
