Estrogen and antidepressants keep me from losing

The doc put me on BC for a condition and it is greatly affecting my workouts and motivation to gain strength with weight training. I have mood swings on the BC as well and in the past was on an antidepressant so I gained weight that way. Also I don't have the greatest eating habits. However I have adjusted my caloric intake and been exercising 3 days a week vigorously for 30 minutes at the gym. The only results I am seeing are increased energy, strength in my core (upper body strength forget it) and toning over all. I see people put on here that they weigh themselves and lost like 1/2 lb or 2 who just started and I find this hard to believe unless you are exercising every day. I heard it takes at least 6 months to start seeing the weight come off. It is taking me even longer at my age and due to medication. Anyone else having problems losing it because of BC and or antidepressants? Be nice to know if one fricking pound came off so I'm very discouraged. I quit SSRI this past July and just now started the BC sorry such a long post. Keep moving.

I previously took BC to help with my period. I found the side effects to not be worth it. It made me gain weight, I had horrible mood swings and the big one for me is that it made my sex drive tank. I don't know anything about anti-depressants.

I work out 5 days a week. I've been heavy lifting on M-W-F with 30 minutes of cardio and water aerobics for 1 hour on T-Th. I only add cardio to MFP logs. I frequent a bodybuilding site a lot. The main advise I see there is that it doesn't matter how much you exercise, it's not going to do you any good if you eat bad calories. I hope some of this helps.

(RE: "Also I don't have the greatest eating habits"). I think you can change your settings to allow everyone to see your food log. That might enable others to help spot problem areas.

Meanwhile, if you think medications are an issue, then you need to talk to your doctor about it, before taking any online advice that might have unintended negative ramifications.

    Be well and good luck
