Should I do cardio?

I'm following the In Place Of A Road Map weight loss plan. I found out my TDEE and BMR and three calculators said to eat about 1600 - 1650 calories, and I've done that for a couple weeks and I've lost 5 pounds. However, it's been a bit slow, and I'm not sure if I'm losing fat since my inches are the same

Basically, for exercise, I lift for 30 - 40 minutes 3x a week. I'm going to be starting a job soon, and I'll be doing some running around, cleaning, etc (fast food job) and I have to walk about a half a mile or so to my job and then a half a mile back from. I probably won't be working every day, but I thought that this would replace doing cardio at home.

Should I try to incorporate some running or rope jumping or something into my plan? If it helps, I'm 5'3, 19 and 140 pounds.

5 pounds in a few weeks is a huge success! That's not slow at all, considering how you don't have much weight to spare in the first place. It sounds like you'll be getting some cardio from your lifestyle - you could add a little more if you really want, but I think you're doing just fine.

I'd say if 2-3 months pass, and you don't lose any inches whatsoever, maybe you reevaluate. I know it's hard, but PATIENCE :)

    Good luck!

Provided you're still losing weight and provided you aren't talking about doing stupid amounts of cardio (like 3 hours/day every day) then I'd say you can follow personal preference on this. Enjoy doing cardio? Then do some cardio. Can't stand cardio? Then just regulate your weight via food intake.

I think your walks will suffice if you do them vigorously enough. Keep in mind, people are supposed to do cardio with the goal of getting their heart rate up. Placing stress on the cardiovascular system is what causes it to operate more efficiently.
