Wheat Belly Diet?

Recently heard about the Wheat Belly Diet, and after reading some information on it (http://www.fitsugar.com/Wheat-Belly-Diet-Weight-Loss-24220138) I think I want to try it. About a year ago I tried cutting out white flour (suggestion from a doctor) along with sugars - however I replaced it all with wheat. Wheat bread, wheat tortillas, wheat pasta, wheat flour - you name it, I have it in wheat. When I first did the transfer I lost 8 pounds in just a few weeks, but for the last 11 months my weight has not moved, no matter how hard I tried and work out! Not to mention I feel bloated and really sluggish. So I can see how this "wheat belly" can be true! ANYWAY, just wanted to know if anyone else has tried the wheat belly diet - what were your results? Did you notice a difference? and also meal suggestions and things to eat!! I feel like everything has wheat or white flour in it!!

Unless you have an allergy or gluten intolerance there is no advantage to cutting out wheat. You can lose weight by just eating within your budget and exercising. Cutting out a whole food group isn't the answer if there's no problem. Sounds like maybe backing off excessive carbs in general might help.

You should probably ignore all the useful and insightful advice you will receive and just continue on with what you want to do

I assume this has to do with gluten? If you are bloated and sluggish, then it's worth a try to cut gluten out of your diet to see if that's the cause. Rice, wild rice, quinoa, corn, buckwheat, and millet are some gluten free grains. Look for grain/bread products labeled gluten free. Fresh vegetables, fruits and meat have no gluten. Processed foods usually will, unless labelled gluten free.

Wheat and/or gluten is not a food group.
