New Here - Pastry Chef :-)

Hi Everyone. I'm not a big "poster" but can use all the encouragement I can get :-). I've been working on trying to lose some weight in the past couple of months. My goal is to lose about 65-85lbs by next May (already lost 20). Long story short, I own a pastry company so I'm surrounded by sugary things all day long...which of course I have to taste (usually just a pinch and I try sometimes to just spit it out), but then that leaves me craving salt. I'm an admitted carboholic and because my work schedule is so irradic I nibble more than actually eat meals (never have time). This also effects any time I have to work out because whenever I do get home, I'm exhausted. Also this summer I had two surgeries and put on an additional 10lbs between June and September.

Good news is that since September I've lost a little over 20lbs. Half on my own by cutting out quite a few carbs and sugary items and I've also done the Atkins induction for a couple of weeks.

While I don't think I'll stay on Atkins I definitely have learned how heavy carbs played on my eating habits overall (even when dieting)...good to know!!!! And frankly, I know myself...I like the idea of maybe a fun size candy bar or maybe a small cookie at the end of the day...it gives me something to look forward too.

I'm using the food tracker here to monitor myself and hopefully can notice some patterns and can try to get this weight off.

I'd definitely love to hear from anyone who has extremely hectic shedules which leave you little time to exercise as well as really menu plan...

Thanks!
