Finally Motivated to Change!

Hi everyone!
My name is Jenny, I am 26 and live in England.
I have just signed up today! Recording my food and seeing the breakdown of calories, carbs, fat and protein has been eye opening! What I thought were healthy snacks aren't healthy at all! Really going to have to think about what I eat as I was under on everything but fat!!
I love reading and crafting and work in an office so not much exercise there. I walk to and from work Monday to Friday for 20 minutes each week and have started going to Zumba twice a week. Love that even though I am rubbish at it! Such a giggle!
I tend to struggle with motivation as I want instant results and don't have much real life support around me. Working in an office there are always so many temptations!
Finally realised that my weight is affecting everything about me - I have zero confidence and act, dress and feel decades older than I am. Feel like I have missed all the fun years for experimenting with clothes!
Hoping that this site helps as I feel quite alone on this new healthy me plan!

Greetings from across the pond! You can do this. One day at a time. I know when I first joined I wanted those first 10 lbs to DROP. Well didnt' happen, but not giving up. One day at a time is my motto. Get some motivated friends and seeing their success will really help. Also friends will say what da? why you eating that? Which is good. At least it helps me. I have lost 16 lbs so far. Hopefully weigh in tomorrow will show a couple more!
Keep reading the forums and then ask people who you think are doing well, are funny, committed to logging, etc. to be your friend. Send them a friend request saying a little about you and they will be more apt to accept the friend request.
You are taking the first step!

Welcome!!
I felt the same way when I started logging in everything and now I make SOME better choices! I only have a handful of friends outside that are actually serious about changing their lifestyle and habits. It's inspiring to hear other success stories on this site and it has helped me continue my journey!
Feel free to add me. My diary is open. Though it's not COMPLETELY healthy, it's still something and I'm continually trying to make little variations here and there!
Temptation is everywhere. As soon as you make the lifestyle change and habit, it gets easier.0 -
Greetings from the biggest Beatles fan..EVER! Request sent!0

Jenny,
Your first sentence was EXACTLY what I was saying 8 weeks ago.... It's truly amazing what we eat without realizing it!
I also have to echo the sentiment, make the change and form new habits, it gets much easier once you do.
Feel free to add me if you wish.

This is the first time that I have really felt motivated - usually it seems like a punishment and a chore!
Actually feeling excited! Loved Zumba and felt hyper afterwards and slept so well.
Just got to train myself to like healthy food and stop snacking on crisps and chocolate!0 -

Zumba is such fun but I am so uncoordinated! Hoping that will improve!
At least it is two hours of exercise a week that just fly by.0
