Greetings!
I've been tracking my progress with MFP on the iPad for about two months now, but have recently dicovered the website and integrated ability to track meals and fitness. So, I'm now out of the shadows and jumping straight in with both feet.
My dear wife and I are on a new life-change diet suggested by our doctor, by making better choices and finding healthier alternatives. We are both office jockeys (she manages a call center, I'm in civil engineering) and find that the past 15 years have really been unkind. LOL. The first 4 or 5 weeks were really tough, but we've discovered just how creative you can be cooking healthy, and now prefer many of the foods we are eating. Do we cheat? You bet! One day every other week, which keeps us from feeling completely deprived and giving up in frustration. The real trick we've found however, is to cheat reasonably, instead of blowing an entire week (or two!) on a single meal.
Sound familiar? Perhaps, but it does amaze me at how different we can approach this journey from each other, and yet the end goal is exactly the same! Pretty amazing indeed.
Seems like an excellent support system through this site and the people who make it what it is, and I'm excited to be a part of it. So, if you're looking to add another person to your circle of friends, please feel free to add me!
