There have been alot of posts I have seen on here that have put down running as a way to loose weight. I even saw one poster say "Running a mile has no real world benifit". Well, I just want to say I don't run to loose weight. I do it because I enjoy it and it is a challange. It's something I was never able to do. I was the guy who got winded going up just a flight of stairs. I started running about 6 months ago. I was out enjoying a night-time walk to clear my head for the day, and I thought "hmmm.. lets see if I can run to the 2nd telephone pole". So I did, and then the next time I tried to make it to the next pole... and then the next.. pushing a little further each time.
Well, tonight I ran alot of telephone poles. I ran 5.5 miles straight without stopping. It took be about an hour, so not that bad of a pace. I won't be setting olympic records any time soon, but it felt good. The last 3/4 of a mile was the best. I felt incredible!!! I was able to actually pick up the pace and finish stonger than I started.
What's next? Who knows.. right now, I feel like I can do anything.

That's awesome! I started 6 weeks ago and while it is mostly pretty painful, that feeling of accomplishment at the end is amazing! And you pulled me in with the song title Love that song0

That's amazing!!! Good for u!!!
I started running about 3 months ago to lose weight and never looked back. I could hardly run a block at first but just kept pushing and I run 5 miles a day now. It's the most amazing feeling and I totally agree with u, that it's even better towards the end. Sometimes when I'm home after my run, I feel like I can go back out and run another 5 miles lol!!
But that's an incredible NSV and u CAN do anything!0
