Do you weigh pasta dry or cooked? Maybe a silly question but would like your feedback. Thanks in advance

Weigh it before cooking.
2 oz dry is about 1 cup cooked.0 -
I always weigh it dry. Pretty sure that's what you're meant to do.0

I weigh it dry but a serving size is usually 3/4 cup to 1 cup cooked.0

That's a tricky one because the packaging doesn't always make it clear. The one I have at the moment says allow 100g per person uncooked, but the nutritional information is for cooked weight. And 100g of cooked pasta weighs a hell of a lot more than dry!0

Usually weight it dry (otherwise how do you know how much to put in the pan?). In my experience 100g dry pasta makes about 200-220g when cooked, if that helps you working things out.
Also if you can't tell if the information on the packet is cooked or uncooked weight, 100g pasta is usually around the 360cals mark. 100g cooked pasta therefore should be much lower - 180 or so (very roughly!)0 -
Brilliant. Thanks folks for your replies:happy:0
