wine and other drinks

Hi, I'm ususally pretty good about my calorie count but the thing that trips me up is when I go out with friends and have a few drinks. I only like sweet drinks or sweet wine and there's a lot of sugar in these! Is there any way I can enjoy an occasional drink without going over my calorie limit for the day?

Work out more, eat less during the day, or drink less. Choose one or any combo of the above.
  • I found that merlot hasn't hindered my weight loss (Lost 25lbs so far, just re-joined and lost 1). I'm also learning to pace more, so I can enjoy it and won't be tempted to keep ordering. Best of luck to you!

You can plan for it and eat lighter those days or work out those days (or the following day) to account for it. You could try some other drinks... you may find one you like that's not too bad, calorie wise.

The flipside is that an occasional day won't hurt you, assuming you really are only talking about a couple drinks. Many people use a weekly calorie average and don't worry so much day to day.

You can exercise to get a calorie deficit or eat less throughout the day to make up for the drinks.

I like to drink, so if I know I'm going out that night, I'll try to eat extra light all day. It makes me feel bad though, saving all my calories for wine! haha. So honestly, I wouldn't worry TOO too much about going a little bit over for the day.

    Here's a chart that might help: http://getdrunknotfat.com/

    I also love sweet drinks.
I now drink Vanilla Vodka and diet coke. Very yummy and only around 70 calories

I love that Beck's Non-Alcohol got an F, why bother? My Spiced Rum rated well I add it to a non-calorie flavored water and/or coconut water or cocoa powder, water and stevia for a yummy spiced hot cocoa.:drinker:
