...preferably in the U.S. for domestic flights.

So, i LOVE LOVE LOVE...

Delta because they give you cookes! :)

Virgin because the seat backs have TVs and you can play games or watch shows.

I don't like Southwest--they don't give you food or have any amenities.

I've heard great things about JetBlue and I'm flying with them in 2 weeks. Sooo we shall see.

I really like Alaska (they also give you cookies! mmm... banana cookie...) and Jet Blue for their variety of snacks.

I dislike American. It's so crowded and crappy on their flights. Seriously.

Most of my flights are international so... sorry but

Emirates Airline. Simply THE best imho
ANY American airline is terrible. Flew with Delta. ZERO professionalism.

But it doesn't really matter. Any flight you take will have a crying baby that will make you hate your life anyways

I only fly United because my dad. I fly American every so often, and I like it better but theres nothing special about it. I am really digging the Direct TV on the United flights. This last trip I got to watch an NCIS marathon and The Dark Knight Rises

    I hate Delta!
They made me wait at the JFK airport for 8 hours.
    Sigh.

    It's a long story..

Favorite? Cheapest for my current flight needs.

Least Favorite? Most expensive for my current flight needs.

    Past experience:

Quantas & KLM are great. Continental not so much.

Spirit is the worst airline ever and second to them in suckiness, crappy planes and poor customer service is American.

Delta is awesome and I love their Biscoff cookies with a passion!

My favorite airline is the one that gets me there safely...using this logic, I am glad I have not flown my least favorite yet.

Favorite - American, but only because my boyfriend's an Executive Platinum so we get upgraded every time we fly. The First Class food is always excellent =P Otherwise, I hate them all.

Least favorite - Delta. I've never, ever, ever flown them without being delayed, usually for maintenance. After a few times of 4hr+ delays, I swore them off for good.

No American-based airline holds a candle to the good international ones. Singapore Airlines is fan-frikkin-tastic. Emirates is unbeatable. Thai, Cathay, and BA are all pretty decent too.

Fav - United since I have status.

Least - Spirit. I will never fly them again.
  • Oh...let's see. I've also flown United and US Airways. Both suck.

Best - Delta when I flew out of MT was the best! Love the cookies, the in flight wi fi and also racked up lots of points on my AmEx card :). Alaska is probably second, free booze! I like Southwest and Allegiant because of the great deals, I can tolerate semi crappy service for the right price, and hell, its always better than driving if you need to get somewhere fast.

Worst - Frontier, their boarding system blows. United/Continental is a close second, rude attendants and tiny planes.

    ANA -- all nippon airways

they keep feeding and giving you wine and beer no matter where i sit and they are the nicest attendants ever!

in the US-- fly united but that's cause i rack up the miles :) I like it a lot

My absolute favorite is Delta. We've always had wonderful service, be it international or domestic. It's always clean, and out of many times we've flown with them, we've only been delayed twice -- and received wonderful compensation for the length of time we were delayed. Even with the delays we've had great communication.

I also like Frontier. I've only flown with them once, round trip DTW-LAS. They also had great service, and were INSANELY on time, actually landing quite early both flights (which from what I hear is normal for them). If I flew with them on any sort of regular basis and it was always like this, they *might* bump Delta for #1.

Granted, most of our international flights we fly Delta.....we did a KLM hopper for Vienna --> Amsterdam once. But other than that, I do have to admit that I have no experience with non-US airlines.

Finally, worst? Southwest. Admittedly the flight attendants were nice as well as funny (and I like humor), but...... 1- I don't like dragging my own luggage around. 2 - I was flying with someone with a disability, so we had priority boarding, but I don't like the boarding by zones rather than assigned seating. 3 - it just *seemed* cheap.

I mean, I know you get what you pay for (and the flight attendants were a LOT better than we paid for), but......ew. Not worth for me, ever again.

We've also flown Continental quite a bit *shrug* for my opinion. United was also *shrug*-worthy imo. We used to be Northwest girls (loved them......and hated Delta before the merger).

    Favourites:

Virgin: their veggie food was just the same as the meat eaters', just with the meaty bit swapped for something veggie, rather than being a hotchpotch of ickiness :P

SwissAir: just for the chocolate, as a kid.

    Least favourite:

KLM: no individual screen on an 11 hour flight! A pupil had the same issue, so I know it's not just that one flight.

Iberia: costs more than Easyjet, but no better.

I like Southwest personally but I know a lot of people don't. I have close family friends who are pilots.

    This.
EA business class? Tops. Although the deco is early bad Bollywood.
Singapore comes very close. Virgin used to.

Lufthansa is excellent. But just not at those levels.
American airline companies are barely a cut above Venezolana or Air China. At least your single serving friends are a lot less annoying on those flights.

C'mon America, you cut all plush out of flying and made it a damn smelly bus ride with Sister Mary Elephant as the airline "stewardess". And don't get me started on Delta.

    My favorite? Southwest.
Everything about it is informal and nobody expects to be pampered. The result? No pretensions and the other passengers are not uptight. If an American flight is five minutes late, your seat mate is going to be stewing and taking it out on the stewardess. Who needs to sit next to that? If your Southwest flight is late, it is no worse than the jostling you took trying to get to your seat, so it is not such a big deal. Everyone rolls with the punches and it is a much more pleasant atmosphere.
    Least favorite? United.
It is owned by the employees, and yet they know nothing about customer service. You would think the counter people, stewardesses and pilots would have a vested interest in being friendly and accommodating. But they don't.
