Starting out.. help with recipes & advice.

I weigh 230 lbs and am 5'8" I want to lose this extra weight.. but I feel so scared to start, and be discouraged... so I am looking for ay recipes & tips to help me get started. So anyone have anything that they would of wanted to know before they started their journey?

1) Most sauces are evil
2) eat more protein
3) lean meats
4) no sodas.. at all, diet included!0 -
2/3rd of each plate fruits and or veggies! thats what works for me for lunch and dinner ! breakfast is more carbs.0

Don't try to do everything at once. Try to make one big change a week (or whatever goal works for you). One week I cut out pop, the next I upped my veggies. Each week I tweaked things, now I'm working on lowering carbs and upping protein. One other thing that is helping me is having a little treat every day. My favourite at the moment is skinny cow truffle Popsicles.. Yum!0
