Extra Virgin Coconut Oil

...has anyone incorporated this in their diet? I heard people put a tablespoon in their coffee to help speed up their metabolism as well as suppress their appetite?

It does neither of those things for me but I do like the taste (not in coffee- that was beyond horrible though I know many like it). It is fabulous for sauteing veggies in for stir fries and curries. I also keep some in a little tub in my bathroom and use it as a hair pomade.

I wouldn't expect much in the way of speeding up your metabolism - building muscle does that, not a tablespoon of oil.

^^^^^ This exactly, love adding it to protein shakes too, melt with a little hot water and add to a shake.

I use it to saute my fish and chicken. It is wonderful for that.

I use it for most of my oil needs. It goes in my morning coffee. But not to speed up metabolism - I think that belongs in the "myth thread".

It's good to eat your fats, though. They make a big difference in satiety and health.
