I would like to know I weigh 190 pnds how does one determine the calorie intake I would need

work out your BMR + TDEE and work a deficit of 3500 calories for lb you want to lose a week. You can work those things out by googling BMR calculator or TDEE calculator.0

Usually the MFP estimates are pretty good.
