Women who want to lift in Sacramento?

I want to start lifting after the new year, maybe doing Stronglifts or a similar program after getting a training session or two. I don't want to shell out the dough to go to a crossfit or lifting gym, since I already have a cheapo 24 Hour Fitness membership. Anyone else go to the downtown club and want to be beginners in the weight room together? (Not looking for dates, just a lifting buddy!)

  • I'll ask around.
  • I'm going to ask a few of my friends too.
  • Have you tried Craigslist?

I just posted an ad on Craigslist! Thanks! And thanks to folks who are asking around. I have one gym friend, but can't convince her to get off of the cardio machines...

Thanks, again! If all fails, I can just start approaching strangers...

I saw that on Cinemax one night. Ended up pretty cool, actually.

 I am so extremely stoked. My partner is a writer, and has been contracted to write promotional materials and a guide for a hard-core strength gym. Guess who gets personal training out of the deal? ME! I'll get one-on-one training for lifting! It's a dream come true! I am so lucky
