Effect of change in diet on hair and skin

Hi everyone! I'm rather new in the forums, I mainly use this site to log my calorie intake, but it looks like many people here know a lot, so I thought to ask for some advice. I've been working on my weight loss for about one month and a half now (after a several months break) and it's going great - I've already lost about 6kg without too much effort or not living my life and I'm very happy and optimistic that this is a sustainable lifestyle. I haven't done anything drastic, I eat anything I like but I make sure I stay within my daily limit (~1400 calories for 1lb loss/week), which practically means more vegetables and less desserts I walk more, I drink more water and less alcohol, I (try to) sleep better. All are healthy changes.
However, there has been a major change in my hair and skin: they get oily far too fast now. I've always had oily skin and hair, but now it's noticeably worse. I shampoo my hair in the morning and by the evening it's oily again. When I come back from work in the evening I feel like I have a thick layer of oil on my face. It's gross. I don't really know if my diet/lifestyle changes are responsible for that, but I can't think of anything else. I use the same beauty products as before, I'm more or less as stressed as always, and it's a bit strange that this change coincides with the diet change. Has anyone had a similar experience? Any advice/ideas what could be causing this?

Try to wash your hair with a dry shampoo. That should help deal with the excessive oil production.0

That's a great idea, I'll do that! Thanks!0

weightloss of any significant amount causes hormonal changes, so basically it's like being a teenager all over again0

Sorry this has happened to you.. I have had the exact opposite.. I used to have greasy hair.. Since losing the weight my hair is fine and even my face is clearer..0

I was also thinking that this must be hormonal, but I'm a bit surprised, it's hard to believe that a few kilos off could do that. I've lost weight in the past but never had such an effect before.0
