why is eating 1000-1200 calories at a time bad?

I know people are supposed to space their calories out during the day better than that haha.

but today during dinner I ended up eating like 1100 calories within 3 hours. I was so busy all day that I barely had time to eat a thing. (before dinner, I had eaten a total of like 400-500 calories and i was starving by the time I could eat haha)

could eating 1000 some calories within 3 hours have other side effects? like will my body store it all as fat? I naturally have a relatively high metabolism, but I worry if it will "tire out" and slow down if I eat a lot at a time.

Nothing wrong with eating big meals as long as you're not overeating during the day (too many calories) and keeping to your macros.

No they are not supposed to - just if they want to

Intra-day meal frequency has not impact on your metabolism when looked at on a daily basis, calories and macros remaining constant.

    So no, it's fine.

    Wait... what?

It's hard enough to kill something once, but to kill something 6 times a day every day?

It's not a bad thing at all as long as it's part of your whole daily intake. The only thing I can think of that might be bad about it is if it makes you feel physically sick from eating too much at once. I doubt that is your problem though because you didn't really eat it all at once, but over a period of a few hours.

Maybe next time have a plan in place for a super busy day. So you'll have some healthy food to eat on the run.

I think it is a matter of preference, mostly.

For example, I get hungry frequently during the day, even when eating fewer, larger meals. And I get hungry at very specific times. So, I plan my meals and snacks to accommodate that. That way I don't approach a meal ravenously and overdo it.

But my husband, for example, is quite the opposite. He doesn't get hungry that often during the day, and prefers to eat fewer large meals. He's not really into snacking at all.

Just do what works for you.

Sometimes I eat that much for breakfast just because I wake up hungry and want to eat a lot of food. It's fine to do that (at any time of day), as long as you stay within your goals on most days.

I had a ruby last night that was 1000-ish cals, but it fitted into my calories goal, so it's fine. I wouldn't worry about it. 6 small meals a day is another diet myth from the past that refuses to die......
