Any sleeping tips?

Hmm...when I've got anxiety and can't sleep I usually try some of these things:
- Warm bubble bath with relaxing no-lyrics music.
- Settling down in bed and reading a book til I feel like drifting off.
- Laying in bed with the lights off and focusing on my breathing, letting all other thoughts pass by.
Basically anything that will help you relax and calm your restless mind will be helpful I think. Or there's the classic warm glass of milk remedy, though I've never tried it.0 -
I have no tips that work anymore for me. I miss sleeping.0

It depends on what your sleeping issue is?
For me the problems is I can fall asleep straight to sleep, however, 3-4 hours later I will wake and spend 1 or 2 hours (if i was lucky) trying to sleep again.
My solution was firstly, I read that taking a magnesium and calcium supplement can improve sleep quality, which I now take just before bedtime. I have a routine where I go to sleep and wake at the same time 7 days a week. The last change I made was if I wake up I get up and do something for up to an hour then go back to sleep.
So far its worked, initially I would be awake for an hour reading, then it went down to 30 mins. it now been a few weeks where I only wake temporarily as part of a normal sleeping pattern.
A friend of mine has started taking the supplements and seen an improvement also.0 -
This is terrible advice.. but when I really need to knock out, 2tbsp NyQuil works. It has a nasty hangover though.
I know I'm gonna get flamed for this lol0 -
Melatonin. I take one pill an hour before I go to bed and sleep like a baby. It is a very safe, non addicting, assist for sleeping. It is sold in the drug store, with the vitamins and supplements.0

If it is due to a hectic life and lots running through your head - keep a notebook next to the bed. Write down those thing you are trying to remember. As a list. What is on the list will not be forgotten, now you can relax about that one item and forget it. It as stress release and memory tool.
