When the Scale Jumps - Scary!

Hi,

Okay, so I know the scale moves up and down constantly naturally. It does for me, I gain and lose the same 2 lbs all the time. But it freaked me out the other day when it said I had gained 5 whole pounds overnight.

Could this really just be water weight? So much? I've been hydrating well and haven't been gone over my goals too much this week, so I'm not sure what's up. Has this happened to anyone else, and is it normal?

Sorry if these are dumb questions! :(

Did you eat a lot of sodium the day before? Not drink enough water? Is it your time of month? Hard workout yesterday? It could be a million different reasons, but unless you managed to eat 17,500 additional calories yesterday, it's not real weight.
