Hey there!!!
My name is Alysha. I have been a little overweight ever since I was 12... lol and as I grew older the scale just kept going up.
when I was 16 I was a size 13-14 sometimes even a 16. or a L-XL. and 175lbs
Everyone always said to me, I would never guess you being that size because your so tall you carry your weight well. I never believed them. So finally on my 22nd birthday in July, at 230lbs, I decided to make a final change - a lifestyle change.
I had started by using the Dukan diet (its like Atkinsons pure proteins and vegetables, no grains or fruit) and it was driving me crazy! I had lost 6lbs doing that diet... and relapsed because of the ridiculous restrictions> with my knowledge of health and food from nursing school - i knew cutting out all those food groups wasn't healthy - so I sought out MFP. Here I have lost the last 25lbs. Well according to today its now -27 on MFP so I guess I've lost a tiny bit more then 35.
I go to the YMCA 3-4 days a week when I can between my crazy 12 hour shift work. I do 35 minutes of cardio and 20 minutes of weights each time.... and I stick to about 1600-1900 calories a day.
I am still around a size 14... but have noticed some of my clothes are fitting a bit looser - however I thought I'd be a bit smaller by now my goal for my height at 6ft is 145 lbs a size 8-10... but I guess I'll go until it stops and listen to my body.
Here is a picture of me just before or after my birthday in July (yellow top and shorts) and me at the beginning of this November (Christmas tree)

hey you look great. not to mention your clothes are really great in the christmas photo lol. I've done the dunkan diet and got about 3 weeks in and 20lbs down but i was unhealthy. I'm 5 foot 3 and at 241lbs I weigh much more then I wish to, but its not easy with stress and lack of motivation.
add me if you want ^^ I'm trying again and hope to continue to.0 -

 I joined in April and have lost 27 lbs and I still have a bunch to lose but I am more comfortable with MFP than anything else I have ever done. I am diabetic and my blood sugars have been awesome. I have a friend on a protein and whatever no carbs and it seems like the restrictions are abnormal. I could not do that. Thanks for your inspiring photo and post.0
