Go get an MRT (mediator release test) done so you can find out what actually causes inflammation for you. E.g. I know that I can tolerate gluten and solanine etc., but sweet potatoes, berries, greens, etc. are killer for me. It really does vary a lot, there is no 'one size fits all' approach for inflammatory foods, e.g. most of what I eat is 'inflammatory' (per paleo/anti-inflammation diet) and yet my CRP is <1 and all health markers are at the outer boundary on the healthy side.

In short, you have to eat what YOUR body will not react to with an inflammatory response, and the only way to determine that is via testing. You should also ensure that you have a baseline of bloodwork done prior to beginning your diet so that you can evaluate your results afterwards, if you have not done that already.

I don't have the money for that. I'm not allergic to anything that I'm aware of, no allergic reactions. I just know that eating fruits, vegetables etc that hep with inflammation are helpful for what I have. :)
MRT tests for inflammatory responses, not allergies (though it will typically identify allergies as well, as they generally produce substantial inflammation)

What is inflamed? Wouldn't it be more sensible to find out from your doctor what it is and what is causing it and then act accordingly?

I have gone to multiple doctors and specialists. I am acting accordingly by going on this diet. I'm also on multiple medications.

I don't feel comfortable posting what's wrong with me, since it's none of your business but an anit-inflammatory and low sodium diet helps the side effects. :D I'm going to school to become an RD, I know some about it already, I was just wondering what others have used to help. :)

I asked a reasonable question - no need to be rude. Good luck with cutting all that out of your diet.

My response wasn't meant to be rude, sorry if you took it that way. I'm just asking what others eat while on this diet- I don't think I need to explain myself.

Heh...you state that you are going on this diet for health reasons on a forum, and expect no one to be curious why? Next time maybe specify that you are going on this diet for health reasons YOU DO NOT WISH TO DISCUSS and THEY ARE NONE OF OUR BUSINESS so we know. People may ask because they want to try to help and/or have been through something similar.

That's a very reasonable question. Sara was right asking it.

Instead of asking online from people with 0 knowledge on your problems and 0 knowledge in medical field, you should ask your doctor what kind of diet to follow.

Depending on your condition garlic can be good with inflammation, or can be very bad and cause a more serious problem. The same with some fresh fruits or veggies.

Ok people, all I was asking is for people who FOLLOW an anti-inflammation diet what they eat! There are different fruits, vegetables, grains etc to eat that will help with inflammation. I was wondering what some of those are! Goodness. I've gone to doctors AND specialists and they told me to follow the "anti-inflammation diet" by Dr. Weil. I was curious if there were any other things that were not mentioned on his diet plan. I should of mentioned that, I just didn't think this was going to be a big to-do!

I would assume that if doctors AND specialists have told you to follow the "anti-inflammation diet" by Dr. Weil, then that's probably what you need to eat. I did a quick Google search and I have the answers I need to get some menus going. I don't understand what you're expecting to find here that you can't get from the Dr. Weil website or some literature from your doctor or specialist. Personally, if I post something on a public forum like this, I would expect people to ask questions and to get a billion different types of responses, a lot of which has nothing to with what I posted. But, I expect that from a forum...any forum.

What's wrong with you? Your doctor prescribed you a certain diet already, so just follow it. Don't ask unknown strangers how to help with your unknown disease! We are not your doctors and don't know your conditions!

What do you want to hear? You should eat chocolate filled donuts as the new recent research of Swedesh scientist proves its the best anti inflammatory product out there. It helps with inflammation of everything, one big magical product.
Now will you follow it or your doctors suggestion?

After spending a few hours checking out the message boards on MFP I realise that it's just a place where people with an axe to grind look for ways to put others down. I, for one, was quite interested in reading how others interpret 'anti-inflammatory' and what sort of things they eat - irrespective of my medical history or theirs. Great that some try to add humour to what was becoming an inflammatory situation... OP hope you got something that helped you. Would be interested to hear how you get on

What's wrong with asking others that might be on the same diet what they eat?

I'm not asking for medical advice, I'm asking for suggestions. Does that mean I'm going to follow every suggestion? NO!

I don't see why I need to keep explaining myself when I posted this out of pure curiosity!

    ^^^THIS!
Jesus ppl .. give it a rest.
The OP is just looking for alternative choices. Ya know!.. maybe even find a few friends who also eat this way.

Hahaha, thanks for making me laugh. :)
