How do I know if this is working?

I just finished my first week but I'm not sure how to know if what I'm doing is working or not. I look the same and I eat out alot so I worry if the calorie counts are even accurate. Should I just judge by how my weigh in goes tomorrow?

Yes and make sure you take measurements!
  • Ok should I do that every week too?

Measurements are usually a bit slower to show up... maybe every 2 weeks or every month. They're fascinating though.

I would say, though, that if you're guessing at the calories of what you're eating you could be way off. Try to cut down on restaurant food or see if the restaurant has nutrition info for their dishes... or eat at restaurants that provide this. At least they'll be a closer estimate. Your best bet is foods you've prepared, where you know exactly how much of what is in them.
  • I do eat only at places that provide calorie info but I still don't know if it's accurate. I'll hit up the grocery store tomorrow though

When you first start eating less, even small changes will show up on the scale. As long as you are counting and measuring your food, there should not be much room for error. I didn't see visible results for weeks after I started losing.
