this might be a stupid question but does anyone know of a healthy food like fruit or veggie that can help lower your stress level? ive been stressed out lately but i want to shed a few extra pounds before new years. if theres foods that can make you horny than there should be some to help you chill out. not like comfort eating, but like science, a chemical that goes to your brain, that sorta thing. sorry if this question is poorly organized or explained lol

Just googled stress relieving foods. Hope this helps. Cortisol that is released during times of stress can make it harder to lose weight. So, if stress so a problem for you I think it is a good thing you are trying to get it under control.0 -
Two key nutrients that are scientifically proven in stress management are magnesium (green veg, nuts, seeds, beans, lentils) and long chain omega-3s (oily fish). But they won't work as a one off, you need to eat plenty on a daily basis alongside other partner nutrients that help you absorb and utilise them.
Also be sure to avoid all sugars and white refined carbs, limit caffeine and alcohol, these cause blood sugar peaks and troughs which causes adrenaline to be released basically putting the body into a state of stress.0 -
wow thank you guys! i didnt think anyone would answer. i cut out all drinks other than water so i guess i started on the right track. im starting to munch on sugar snap peas, they have the word sugar in them but they are green lol anyway they are healthy so it doesnt really matter. im gonna go green0

On the back of that, I would recommend you supplement 2-4g of taurine a day.
It has positive effects on the sympathetic nervous system as a whole (of which stress is part of) and I must say that since supplementing it, I've felt GREAT.
It's cheap, there's no nasty taste mixed with some sugar-free juice and water, and it's worth a shot if anything!0 -
It's not food, but I find that a nice hot cup of herbal tea is a really great stress reliever, preferably mint and chamomile. There's no calories and you can count it as water.0

Dark Chocolate 70%+ ... Having a square or two helps to alleviate stress
This one in particular has helped me a great deal I was so stressed out (that's how I regained much of my weight) couldnt seem to control it one day it was so bad I thought my head was literally going to explode .. I got home sat down felt the same way I then made myself a cup of Earl Grey GREEN TEA ... Then after havIng it I then realized something changed -- mind you everything else was still the same my thoughts my stress my surroundings ... I was calm I was relaxed my head was back to normal I immediately felt an unexplainable difference .... Ever since this has become my daily ritual no matter what -- I find different flavors of Green Tea and I drink them all the time.. Don't just take my word try it for yourself you'll experience the difference
(don't bottle it up let it out tell someone or write it all out)
Good luck Hun!0 -
