Pilates and Walking

I'm a busy stay at home mom, so I try my best to do the things that I can make time for and fit into my schedule. My plan is to do 60 minutes (30 minutes in the early afternoon, 30 minutes at night) of at home pilates, as well as walk between 1-4 miles a day, 5 times a week.

I am 5'5, currently 197lbs, I want to loose a good chunk of weight, but for me it's less about the number and more about how I feel/look/fit into clothes and how I measure!

So the pilates + walking, + some strength training with some free weights, along with a better diet, should be sufficient?

I also belong to the gym, but it doesn't have a day care and it's tough for me to go, so I will probably only go to the gym about twice a month.

Thanks!

(Clearly new here, lol!) :)

Glad to hear, you are on your way.

Weight loss is 80-90 percent about diet. The exercise is great but don't think that working out makes up for eating to much. Calculate your TDEE, reduce from there. 500 calories a day is 1 pound a week. I personally never counted my exercise into my weight loss. One month I did 31 hours of cardio, it added about 3 pounds to what I lost. It wasn't work the effort for weight loss. (yes I understand the other health benefits of exercise.) Like I said, weight loss is mostly about how much you eat.
