First of all, I LOVE the program. It's so easy, even a person with 2 brain injuries (me) can manage the website! :-) I am going through the process of determining whether I am a candidate for gastric bypass surgery. I met with a dietician who told me about myfitnesspal, so I checked it out. The doctor wants me to lose 15 pounds before surgery. She didn't listen to me/hear me when I told her because of my history with gastroparesis, swallowing/feeding problems, and reflux, it is really easy for me to stop eating. In fact, I told her the only way for me to make the pain stop is to not eat. I got no response. Her recommendation was 1200-1300 calories a day. Myfitnesspal recommended about 100 calories more than that. The first few days to a week, it was ok. I was meeting my calorie goals. Now I am coming up on the end of my second week, and I am consistently not making it to even 1200 per day. I've lost 8 pounds in 12 days (dietician's scale), 10 pounds in 12 days (primary care doctor). I am doing little to no exercise due to my disabilities. I fear I am developing involuntary anorexia again. It's a struggle I've had after each brain injury. It's getting harder and harder to eat. I'm at a loss for what to do. Any suggestions?
