Hello all!!! I am going on spring break on saturday (woot woot!) and will basically be traveling around europe for 3 weeks on a very tight budget!! So, naturally, food is my least concern :) Haha, but was wondering if any of you had any good ideas on non-perishable, non-smashable, able to put in a carry on for a flight type of food? I plan on toting around a loaf of bread with me and some peanut butter, and also apples, oranges and possibly some tuna and instant oatmeal? Any other good ideas out there? And plus, I won't have access to a fridge!! So, keep it simple!! I will have access to a microwave in some hostels....but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Granola bars, the individual "lite" fruit cans, microwave popcorn 100 cal packs, any 100 cal pack (buy a small rubbermaid container maybe to keep from squashing them!) Hope this helps! Have a great trip.

Raisins, nuts, granola bars is a good idea :oP, buy the veggies (corn, peas, green beans) in the little single containers like you would for applesauce or something like that :o) They actually taste better when not heated (don't think I am weird but when your power is out for 3 days you have to eat something!!), oh and the 100 calories single bags of popcorn is an excellent idea!!

Have fun!! I loved it over there!! :o)

i always get those honey wheat braided twist pretzels, they're great for dipping in peanut butter for a snack. also, crystal light packets, since you probably won't like the water. they are an easy way to disguise the flavor of water you might not like and then you can just carry a reusable water bottle instead of buying water all the time!

How about some turkey jerky or even beef jerky.
