New & Still Getting Used to This

Hey there, new friends.

My name is Katie. I just started this site. It's been amazing so far. My dad recently had another heart attack...I think we are up to number 7 since he turned 31. Scary, right? Well, he has had the past 17 years to change it but nothing really stuck. So, now, as a family, we are trying it together. My weight loss goal is 125 pounds. I'm currently down 11 and some odd inches. We haven't measured or anything so I have no idea how much.

I'm hoping for my sake and for his that we can really succeed this time :)

Welcome... great place for support and motivation..

Take your measurements today so you can track them.. I didn't lose anything this week but did lose 3". I was like you and didn't measure when I started and I sure wish I did.

Also take a before picture because many people on here say that didn't realize the difference until they took another picture to compare it too..that's when they saw the difference.

And make use of the boards.. they are great!!

Gather some friends here. That is important. I check in daily to see what is going on with my friends, to make sure they are writing in their diary and everything is okay. I log everyday!

Thanks for all the support, everyone. It has been an interesting journey so far. Frustrating but interesting. I know I am losing inches much faster than I am losing weight. I think getting on the scale and not seeing the number go down has been the hardest. But fitting into jeans that didn't fit six months ago is definitely a plus!
