Thanks for the good laugh. While carbs aren't important, fats certainly are. Don't eat enough Fats good luck with that erection.

I'm thinking the OP and I aren't too worried about not being able to get it up

Eating 160g of protein daily usually lends itself well to getting adequate fat... 20-30% usually. But sometimes I'll just eat a doughnut.

    HAHA!

Ya I mean I think the point of this isn't to go on a crazy "twinkie diet" but not exactly a salad diet either...just something in the middle where you feel good/energetic and you still get to eat the foods you love. I love my fruits and veggies, but I love cupcakes too! It's just really too bad that more people aren't aware of this yet. Took me long enough!

I've just realized this too. I've done low fat and it worked, I've done six mini meals a day and that worked , now I'm doing whatever the hell I want including movie popcorn for dinner and skipping snacks ( oh my! ) and you know what? That works too!

Without knowing the name, what you are doing is IIFYM. (if it fits your macros) Simply meaning you can eat anything you want. If you are cutting weight, you need to be in a caloric deficit. If that deficit can handle movie popcorn or cupcakes or McDonalds go for it.

YEEEP. Logging what I eat is so important for me. I tend to go WAY over if I don't. I make better choices just knowing I have to log.

    An extreme example. Thanksgiving.

I deliberately ate almost nothing during the day. I did eat 300 calories in the morning. Worked out, yes my gym is 24/7/365, felt like I was going to pass out and had a banana. Went to dinner. I ate another 1500 calories including pecan pie and pumpkin pie and whipped topping. I still was under my goal. It can be done, it is all about what you are will to do.

google IIFYM you can lose weight and eat basically anything you want. You probably shouldn't eat some thing or eat them rarely but you can eat anything.

Quick question about macros though, does that have anything to do with carbs protein fat...? or just calories?

I basically don't care about carbs or fat... I just aim for a protein target of about 30% (1g/pound of body weight for me) within my calories and let the rest fall where it will. That's about the nuts and bolts of it for me.
I do exactly the same. And I though I was special......

Super easy!!!!! On Friday I had deep fried sushi and pizza, over 2500 Val's and I felt a bit sick from over eating. So I decided I'd even things out over three days, only had about 1300 calories yesterday. I get to eat almost 2000 calories today and still be within my TDEE! Sooooo easy !

Its doctors and scientists using faulty logic and jumping to conclusions. Not eating until later is just a form of Intermittent Fasting. Just google it.

It is the same thing with calorie free soda. They claim it makes you fat because more fat people drink it. So which came first. The people getting fat or the diet soda? My theory is that it isn't the diet soda, its the Big Mac Supersized meal they got with their diet soda that made them fat. Or that they switched to diet because they are saving calories so they then can eat more food. It isn't diet soda that makes people fat. You can't get fat from 0 calories.

So, I think we should be careful before we throw Scientists under the bus on this, I think part of the fault is we don't know how to read the studies released about all these theories on weight loss. What I've learned being married to a Phd in Genetics is that to read Scientific studies critically, ask questions about methodology use, the control and what their peers are saying about their conclusions(if there are conclusions at all, many times we get the "it is Likely to have caused X", only.

It is pretty easy, isn't it! :) Logging definitely makes me make better choices. Don't look at today, though, I typically go over on Sundays. Maintaining now, so the occasional excessive day doesn't hurt me.
