I knew something was wrong when my shirts were getting a little tighter. I would start out great during the day then at night I would eat till it was time to go to bed. (11p-1p) I have only one excuse it is MY FAULT! I had a long.....talk with myself trying to figure out how I could do this. I said, "Well, its kinda like when I gave up smoking cigarettes". I wanted my children to grow up in a smoke free home, not to mention to help my asthma too. Now I want to do it all for me isn't that what its all about? I want to feel better physically and emotionally. I will not fail at this lifestyle change. I put in a Leslie Sansome DVD and something changed this 12-15 minutes (1mile) exercise was going to work for me. I always had trouble sticking to the treadmill, eplicital and the exercise bike it was boring and took too long. After a few days, I'm doing 2 miles she has different DVD's one with stretch bands that I love.
Being 53 years old with 2 bad disks in the neck, and one in the lower back I can do the walking and the moves on her DVD's. I need to do what works for me. Leslie said on her facebook page she was walking to eat off the pumpkin pie she ate. I thought that's what I will do when I treat myself to ice cream, cookie, etc. I will exercise it off. I hope this testimonial helps others join the leslie group on MFP they are very caring and supportive.

How about not eating the treats at all. You don't need them and it is obvious that you are already looking for a way not to lose weight. Its a lifestyle change that you need to make. Cookies, Ice Cream, Candy, Chips and other crap cannot be a normal thing for you. Throw it out, don't buy it. Don't eat it. When you get down to a weight that is desirable then occasionally have a treat.

You simple cannot out exercise a bad diet.

I don't want to turn this into an unsupportive series of response, but I sorta agree with the post above. I think it is a slippery slope to approach things from a "if I eat this, I'll do jumping jacks to offset it"

Losing weight should be about eating well
Being fit and strong should be about exercise
Maintaining weight can be about working off that slice of pie

I encourage you to start thinking about the things you want to put in your mouth. Make some decisions about who you want to be, and recognize the steps you have to take to get there.

Great job at finding an excercise program that works for you!! I enjoy Leslie Sansone! For me, getting rid of trigger foods like cookies, chips, soda etc really helped me stop craving them and I know feel better than I have in a long time. You must find the right balance for you!! Some peopkl can have small amounts if those foods, some like me cannot handle them, it just depends. Best of luck on your journey!!
