    Quality of food is important.
    Protein/Carb/fat intake ratios
    types of fats
    amount of quality sleep you get
    stress levels
    Exercise

    It's not.

    100 calories of candy is not the same as 100 calories of vegetables.

    Also, it's important to exercise to increase your metabolism.

    Speaking purely in terms of weight loss, yes.

    Taking overall health and body composition into consideration, no.
