Working in health care, I am usually stapped for time or lucky if I get to actually sit down to eat... Patients, vendors and staff all bring in sugary sweet stuff, especially this time of year. I managed to avoid the box of donuts eye balling me last weekend, but I now there will be more and more and more, how do you all stay away from the sugary goodness???

Knowing that it's a lot of calories that won't fill me up. That's the awesome thing about having a calorie goal - I only have so many to play with. I can eat two pastries that can total 600+ calories and will still be starving at the end of the day (and **** out of luck for calories unless I want to go over)....or wait a bit and eat a much bigger meal for that same amount. I hate being hungry, so "playing the tape all the way through" to the end of the day helps me.

I make sure I plan for the stuff I really love. Knowing that I will soon have some Hershey's chocolate cheesecake makes it a lot easier to pass up the so so muffins or donuts or even chips that always seem to be around. This was really helpful at Thanksgiving-I had very small portions I wanted to try and didn't eat anything I didn't really love, and it allowed me to fit the stuff in that I really loved without going over calories.
